Carver & Associates offers interior design consulting and furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) procurement for hospitality owners and developers worldwide. Its hospitality contract services are far-reaching, with locations in the United States, Mexico, UAE, Saudi Arabia, India and Korea.
For more than 12 years, Carver & Associates has partnered with Arkansas Lighting. The firm purchases branded fixtures that it supplies to hospitality clients, such as Hilton, Marriott and IHG Hotels & Resorts. When its designers want to introduce new designs for boutique hotels or senior living facilities, they trust Arkansas Lighting with custom lighting design requests.

“It was a fluid change from Arkansas Lamp to Arkansas Lighting,” remembers Ryan. “The emphasis on customer service has changed. Early on when I called, I spoke to a lighting expert but not a customer service expert. Now, Maria is our contact. She’s the perfect liaison between the electrical side and the product purchasing side. She speaks to me in a language I understand.”

Arkansas Lighting rep Liz Hill approached Carver & Associates about a partnership years ago. Ryan says Liz is the type of rep with whom project managers can truly craft a relationship.
“Liz helped grow the relationship immensely,” says Ryan. “I go to Liz for answers. If she doesn’t have the knowledge about a hospitality lighting solution, she connects me with a person who does.”

“We know there will be occasional problems — that’s the nature of hospitality procurement,” says Ryan. “The question is: how can we come together and solve them? Arkansas Lighting employees have literally driven product to properties for us when delays caused tight deadlines. Rather than allow the product to arrive late in delivery trucks, they stepped up. They didn’t turn their backs to us. That’s what problem-solving is all about.”
